IV. THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD

The attributes of God are the — the property of God.

A. The Omnipotence of God.

This means that God is : “I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God ” (); “Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God ” (); “Is anything for the LORD?” ().

There is only one thing which can , and that is . Some foolish person may propose : “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.” This person says, “Here is something God cannot do.” But this is not a question of what God do, but what God do.

1. . “By the were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the . He gathereth the together as an heap: he layeth up the in storehouses. Let fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. See also Genesis 1:1-3; Nahum 1:3-6. Man has to have tools to make things — God only has to speak, and it is done.

2. . “There is one lawgiver, who is able : who art thou that judgest another? Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: whereas ye . For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For what ye ought to say, , we shall live, and do this, or that” (). See also Exodus 4:11.
